No, a contributing factor in ending a long tenure, it hurt.
Unfortunate that length of dedicated service is not viewed any differently. Raises were always across the board and not relative to any cost of living standard. No real motivation to be beyond mediocre, and that's sad.
Suggestions for improvement
- Recognize key staff who truly make a difference and compensate them according to their skills sets supplied. Universal across the board pay raises are a potential for insult to those who strive so hard to give so much.
