It took a while to get regular staff meeting going, but theyre being done and it helps in some areas. Many of us feel that we would like to be included in on some of the decision making when it affects our job and departmental staff. Often seems like you are the last to find out big changes, that directly affect you, while other co workers are already informed.
Not much growth is available for clerks. Which is why continuing education is in the plans.
Overall compensation for your work
The medical plan is not the best. Recent merger w a bigger hospital and we were not offered the same coverage as their employees. We were offered this customized plan which is skeptical.
Office / Work Environment
Cleanliness could be better in the staff areas. I dont remember the last time our rugs were cleaned, vaccuumed or changed.
I am thankful to have a flexible supervisor.
Inclusive / Diverse
Working in the medical field is an eye opener. We need more bilingual people to go into the medical field! Especially in our communities. We treat more hispanic patients yet almost all of our medical staff speaks only english. Interpreters are available but its not the same.
What I like about the company
Flexible schedule. Supervisor works well to assist us if any last minute schedule change must occur.
What I dislike about the company
There is no cafeteria. There are not many events to celebrate the staffs hard work. The hospital has a fitness area and we do not. Atleast make a walking trail within the building for us to walk a mile or 2 during our lunch break. Downtown area is safe but not enough for me or others to feel comfortable taking a walk on our own.
