Experienced employees are not really utilized fully.
Support from management
Communication is poor at best, and decisions are made without consulting more experienced employees
The team there is amazing, just not trusted or utilized my management
Freedom to work independently
Not really-management usually takes credit for employees work done and employees are rarely allowed to present their work
rarely, if ever
Attitude towards older colleagues
Older colleagues were always considered, but their experience was never utilized
I had to give a star...
Overall compensation for your work
Way under the norm for the responsibilities, and the benefits are substandard
Office / Work Environment
not really - sometimes very wasteful
there is pressure from management occasionally, even though the business requirements are not as pressing as maintaining an image of leadership
The company has a strong standing in the community, and the services it provides are much needed. It's the internal supporting departments that seem to suffer
I was always statisfied with the work done, although most of my projects never made it into production due to changing priorities or mismanaged expectations.
Inclusive / Diverse
NO diverse opinions are supported. Alternative approaches were rarely even listened to, and never considered
Suggestions for improvement
- If you're going to hire experienced technical people, use their experience to make things better.
What I like about the company
Its nice to work for an organization that is meeting a very important need in the community
What I dislike about the company
They don't seem to take being a non-profit seriously. There is a great deal of money that could be redirected to community support services by implementing some simple automation, yet the continue to employee more people who not income producing thereby reducing the percentage of income that can be applied the company mission
