What I like

Well taken care of. Pay is great. Lots of benefits offered. Supervisor, regional manager & director are very supportive, offer encouragement and treat myself & coworkers fairly and with respect. Workplace coworkers are like family.

What I dislike

More focus on downtown office compared to rural areas.

Suggestions for improvement

Less meetings. Activities are planned at downtown location. I would offer activities to the rural areas as well.

Working for the State of Colorado is great, except that pay increases are determined mostly by the legislature.

EmployeeWorked at State of Colorado in Denver, CO at the time of review.

What I like

I work on a team where everyone gets along well and our Director supports us.

What I dislike

The pay and benefits may lag behind the private sector, because increases have to be voted on by the legislature. This means you might have an awesome performance review and only receive 3/4 of a percent for a raise.

Suggestions for improvement

I would make a company-sponsored ecopass (for public transport) permanently free for all employees, or else relocate to areas that allow for all employees to park for free. Some areas of state employment have free parking, in other areas parking is very limited and expensive.
