You have a better chance of winning the lottery than having someone praise your work.
Support from management
Leadership only follows what is dictated by Senior Management and does not care about employee input.
Teamwork is non-existent, everyone does their own job.
Freedom to work independently
Workload is not equal, some departments are overwhelmed by the amount of work they have and other departments have so much time on their hands that they can watch videos or play games at their desks.
Communication is horrible, one usually finds out about changes weeks, if not months after the change has been made.
If you are female or ethnic, you have less of a chance of being recognized, hopefully that will change with a new senior management.
Attitude towards older colleagues
No real support system in place unless you are doing something wrong, then everyone in the company knows about it. Long-term employees are not appreciated, unless they are buddies with upper management.
None whatsoever, usually you are in the same position for years or decades, unless someone quits or dies.
Overall compensation for your work
On the average, pay is about 20% lower than local averages. Benefits are comparable to other industries.
Office / Work Environment
Most computers are about 3-4 years outdated, and most are not capable of running some required applications (purely a cost-savings issue).
Some departments have a good work-life balance, while others are worked as much as they can, even if it means working extra hours or responding to requests 24/7.
It was rare to hear anyone say that they were happy to come into work, most dreaded it and just considered it a place to collect a paycheck.
At one point, there was really good job security, probably the only good point to the company. But, in recent years, layoffs have become increasingly frequent, so the security is gone.
They have them available, but in the time I worked there I never saw them hire a disabled person.
Safety training is provided to all employees and most of the conditions would meet OSHA standards.
Some of the work was challenging, when it came to exploring new opportunities, but the rest of the work in repetitive and mind-numbing.
Inclusive / Diverse
No diversity whatever, they'll take your ideas and either ignore them or not give you credit for the idea in the first place.
