WORK, WORK, WORK. Plan on working your days off or at least 12 hour days.

Since the "accident", you can not sneeze without causing a scene. Don't get caught with your shoe laces untied!!!

once you learn it, good luck with that. They do not train very well.

What I like about the company

Direct reports are fair. As management you get more time off than union personnel, most of the time. Unlimited sick time, if you dare take any....

The poor judgment for promoting people.

Company Culture

Corporate vs store management is not a great atmosphere

Support from management

Never hear from them.

Teamwork

Cashier is now expected to bag huge orders as well as ring. alone for long periods, while no rules seem to apply for the few baggers left.

Good and bad on that

Ex: pizza's ordered to thank employees for fund raising but not telling staff until long after pizza was cold and gone

Job is much more physical than it should be. Constant heavy lifting due to broken belt, etc.

No set schedule, outright rudeness of management, job description has blended, now cashier and bagging alone.

Suggestions for improvement

  • They should be handicapped accessible. They should recycle and promote recycling. They can be cleaner. The management should take time to listen to their employees and make the employees feel comfortable to do that. They need a better break room with working appliances. They need to train everyone for their job and for safety issues. They need first aid kits and working eyewash stations. They have to learn to communicate with their employees. They need to make their employees feel that they are needed. They should do better by their employees and give them better health and dental insurance.

What I like about the company

I am lucky to have a job with a union that will attempt to fight for employees. I am lucky to receive a paycheck every week to be able to support my family.

What I dislike about the company

Management doesn't listen to any employee or try to help them. The company doesn't want to pay for health insurance so they only offer part time positions now. Their starting pay is lower than anywhere else. You'll never advance in the company or make more money right away. They don't train you for your job. They don't train you in job safety. The eyewash stations they have in the store 2 of them don't work and the 3rd barely works. They aren't handicapped accessible.
