Focused on profit not employee well being
Support from management
Do not expect management to care about your issues. They will “listen” and shoot you down with...”well it cost too much/staffing is appropriate for the numbers (they don’t care about acuity or that their staff are getting injured), etc.
Some areas of the hospital have better teams than other areas. Employees tend to look out for each other since administration does not.
Freedom to work independently
They expect you to work independently but don’t provide the tools to successfully provide patient care
Hear things secondary whether it be criticism(never constructive), or new policy.
If they call you off for low census you are far more likely to get called off if you’re a female.
Attitude towards older colleagues
They don’t care about your age.
They don’t care about you unless you’re administration
Overall compensation for your work
They buy new things increase salary for administration but don’t have enough to give raises to the rest of the staff.
Office / Work Environment
Administration is hostile
Could be better, could be worse
I am not proud to work here.
Even if you’re bad at your job they won’t fire you
It’s behavior hospital
Staffing ratios are unsafe.
Every day is a new challenger because you never know what you’re walking into.
Suggestions for improvement
- Staff for acuity
What I like about the company
