Suggestions for improvement

  • Hallway trash cans are small and overflowing, leading to roaches. Students need access to computers in the classrooms. Administration needs to ask for teacher input before making changes.

Good rapport with teammates, encouraged to speak up for myself and my students

What I dislike about the company

Building cleanliness needs to be addressed, heating/cooling not great, students need access to computers

Suggestions for improvement

  • Allow more freedom of expression

Suggestions for improvement

  • Give the teachers the opportunity to teach! Let them have input in the curriculum. Go back to teaching the well-rounded child rather than just ELA and Math tests. Give them music, art, band, gym, sports, Chess in the schools. Let them do projects, have school literacy celebrations, take field trips, etc. Help them to be exposed to areas that they can find interest in, careers in, and even success. Allow them to grow and become a child that is a contributing member of society that is fully informed about all parts of society, not just math and ELA tests.

What I like about the company

My company has over 35,000 employees. Within my school, the administration is supportive and innovative, however the DOE ties our hands repeatedly. Trying to help students has become more difficult due to policies that either do not support the entire child's needs, or the school's ability to help the child. We are given very few opportunities to give our input into what happens in our classrooms and with our students. Policies are made with little teacher input and doesn't always benefit the school, or the child's needs.
