Support from management
The Headquarters is run by a click of older untrained folks. They will lie and do not conduct themselves in accordance with a professional workplace. Anyone in the click can go around their supervisor and backdoor them.
Departments do not cooperate for the common good, i.e. interests of the children.
The CFO and VP of finance were fired, then brought back by a sympathetic board member. They are all part of the leadership click.
The COO position was eliminated, so there is no upward career path for VP for examples.
The organization does not hire LGBTs and yet receives 26M in state funding.
Suggestions for improvement
- Fire several members of under performing senior management. Sunrise does not have to be profitable, because they lean heavily on an endowment to cover their yearly losses. There is no performance incentive as a result, and no leadership accountability. They are spending other peoples money (state taxes)
What I like about the company
Because the headquarters organization is about 20 years behind in technology and training, you can do anything and look like a star.
What I dislike about the company
You are not supported. If your subordinate has an issue with you, they can go around to the president or CFO. If they are an attractive female, they get whatever they want.
