Company Culture

There is no fairness. There is not trust. I once caught my supervisor going through my desk and purse. When this was relayed to my Clerk, I was told that I couldn't be right about that. Nothing was ever done.

Support from management

There are no goals set. You are given a set of tasks to do and not allowed to advance your knowledge and training for new tasks are limited.

Teamwork

You are given your tasks, expected to complete them perfectly as well as help anyone else. Receiving help with your tasks, if you fall behind from other personnel does not happen. When I went on vacation, I was told that all my work would be waiting for me when I returned. And, it was. No one else picked up the work I was required to do, even after being gone for a week.

Freedom to work independently

Three weeks after I was hired, my supervisor told me that my job duties were worked out between her and the Clerk of Court; that my duties were ones that they felt they had done long enough and they didn't want to do them anymore.

Internal Communication

You are communicated with only if it affects you.

Gender Equality

It makes no difference what your gender, race, etc. Am not allowed to futher my knowledge. You do your job and are told not to worry about what everyone else does. You do not need to understand anything other than what you do.

Career Development

Training is offered offsite, but the supervisors will not allow me to take them, because I would have to be away from the office. I have also been told that some of the training is for people with a higher pay grade, and I do not need that training.

Overall compensation for your work

No raise for 5 years. Asked about a merit raise, was told the merit raise form is no longer available online, so merit raises are no longer available to employees.

Office / Work Environment

In my office, the file room leaks. It has for over 5 years. Much patchwork has been done to the ceiling and sometimes the roof. I have asked about the risks for mold/mildew and what has been done to make sure this issue it taken care of and been told that nothing more will be done.

Environmental Friendliness

not applicable

Work-Life Balance

If you are a boss or supervisor, you have carte blanche to do whatever you please, including not having to "use" your allotted time off. If you are not, you are required to list every single second you are not at work.

Company Image

I have heard very few complimentary remarks from statewide employees.

Job Security

Some days I am not sure I will make it to the end of the day.

Handicapped Accessibility

No. When I sprained my ankle, I was required to stand and continue regular job duties, even with a Dr's note.

Workplace Safety

none

Challenging Work

I could if I were allowed to learn more about what I could do.

Inclusive / Diverse

You are not allowed to have ideas. Things have run the same way since the beginning of time. No one, at any level, is willing to make changes that make sense.
