The office manager had a very attitude and I felt I was working in a hostile atmosphere most of the time.
There was no team work. I did the job of 3 people because the office manager was on the phone talking to her friend most of the time. This was an everyday occurrence.
Freedom to work independently
I had no say so, I was concerned about patient care to pick up the slack so patient care would not suffer.
Office / Work Environment
We were not allowed to have breaks of lunches we worked from the time we walked in the office until the time we left at nite. Also the way the archived files were taken care was an accident waiting to happen.
I had a death in the family and no one cared I was expected at work no time off.
I was proud of my work, I did the best for the patients that's why I was there. When the office manager did go on vacation the doctors were very happy with my performance and told the office manager that, but this made the office manager mad and the working environment became very hostile. The doctors didn't notice.
Suggestions for improvement
- Monitor the office manager better, and give them skills for working better with their employees
What I like about the company
All I can say that I learned how to wear many hats and I did it well.
What I dislike about the company
I think the parent company SurgOne needed to trained the office managers better. Office managers had very little people skills and would have benefitted from training the manager better.
