Support from management

Zero support from my immediate supervisor, Kat Houser, she is hard to find for the just part and when she is around she is extremely rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. She does not motivate employees ever, she never acknowledges us for anything good, we only hear negative things. In my opinion, she needs some management training to learn how to communicate better with her team and how to motivate her team. Kat also could benefit by working on her people skills.

Career Development

There was a lot of talk about this during training, however once you complete training you don't hear anything more about it, at least not on my team, due to my supervisor, Kat Houser, whom is very difficult to find most of the time and when you see her she is anything but motivating, professional or anything else along those lines.

Compensation is fair.

Could be cleaner and less cramped.

Company Image

Training was very poor. Almost the entire class was out of control. For example, verbal fighting, dancing, drug dealing in the parking lot, people drinking alcoholic beverages in the classroom in soda bottles, nobody paying attention, disrespectful to trainers, trainers had no control of the class. It was literally chaos.

Job Security

I feel that as far as me being able to keep my position that yes I am not worried about being demoted or let go. However, based off of how everything has gone since I started, all through training and afterwards, the lack of professionalism and poor leadership definitely has me looking for a better opportunity for employment.

Suggestions for improvement

  • A better training environment would be huge. I think it would be great if supervisors were monitored a bit more by upper management as far as knowing where they are when they disappear for hours, and maybe some anonymous reviews from each person on each team regarding their immediate supervisor. I would also hope that in the unfortunate case that there is an ongoing issue or complaint about a supervisor that the upper management could find a better way to resolve the issue/s instead of losing good, hardworking, motivated and dependable employees. This has happened many times that I alone know about, so I can't even imagine how many good people the company is losing every month due to poor leadership, poor training and an overall uncomfortable work environment.

What I like about the company

There haven't been many positive experiences, however there are a few. The HR team has professional and seemed to want to help. Although my immediate supervisor, Kat, is just a nightmare, some other supervisors are very pleasant and seem to want to help you do your best. Although training was out of control, the supervisor of the trainers, Jen, is very, very professional, helpful, knows her job and excels at it. There is a nice big break room with a cafeteria and plenty of vending machines for drinks and snacks which is nice. Other than these few things, my personal experience thus far has not been very positive unfortunately, as I had high hopes in the beginning and then week after week of the negativity has left me very discouraged.

What I dislike about the company

I disapprove of the training environment due to the fact that it was out of control, some of the most unbelievable things happened during training and the trainers just did not seem to know how to get control of the class. Due to the extremely poor training environment it was next to impossible to learn the things that you needed to learn to be successful in your position at first. You are kind of thrown out there onto the phones with no idea what you're doing. Unfortunately for me I got placed on the supervisor, Kat Houser's team and have received zero support and zero respect from day 1. This is something that I personally have discussed with upper management and several others have as well. Not once in my career have I had a problem with or been treated so poorly by anyone in the workplace. The fact that myself and several others are being treated this way by anyone, especially a supervisor is unacceptable and needs more attention. I've tried being extra positive, I've tried one on one discussions with her, discussions with myself and upper management, as well as myself, Kat and upper management all together and her actions persist. She is very careful that nobody in upper management is around when she's being disrespectful and negative, but when they are around she instantly turns into the supervisor of your dreams, it's very strange and a little creepy. So everything that I've shared here and the fact that nothing has improved and that I am left feeling highly uncomfortable at work are the big parts of the company that I highly disapprove of.

Suggestions for improvement

  • When a change in policy is necessary, it should be consistent and explained in a way that doesn't make employees feel attacked. Trans and intersex people should be allowed a custom email and a custom desired name in the interface system, even if their legal "dead" name is necessary to have on file for tax purposes. HR should take all reported instances seriously, and management should not be allowed to discriminate against workers with medical conditions when it comes to raises and promotions. People have been told they cannot move up in the company due to chronic illness, which is against the law, per ADA.

What I like about the company

I am supported in my career, I am made to feel like a person, and my individuality is celebrated.

What I dislike about the company

The company has draconian medical leave practices - they illegally fire sick workers, they disclose personal medical information given to HR in confidence, and they do not take hospital notes or doctor-ordered medical leave into consideration, their attendance policy has no room for workers who have chronic illnesses.
