Suggestions for improvement
- Allow employees to decide whether or not they wanted to work overtime. Bring equipment up to DOT and OSHA standards. There is no reason to be operating on faulty equipment. Hire from within with upper management and make sure that employees are heard.
What I like about the company
They were there when I was on sick leave for nearly a year, short term life insurance was great. The benefits and pay were great here. Most of the management team was nice to work. They didn't put up with harassment and would be sure to take care of the problem.
What I dislike about the company
Lots of poultices in this company, the equipment wasn't very well maintained. I remember several times through the many years of being there that we would be forced to drive with faulty equipment. This is a just in time position which would mean that safety issues weren't always the first thing to be taken care of and the customer was always taken care of first. There was several times that the state would shut down the highways and we were forced to keep driving. There was no reason with them for production to stop whether or not that meant disaster in the area or not. Overtime was not an unusual thing to happen with this company and you are forced to work it, most days where anywhere from 10 to 13 hours a day. Employees that had been there for a long period of time, never advanced much with this company. There was also employees here that did not pull their weight and since this is a union position meant that it was hard to fire.
