Don't expect nothing here, no pats on the back either.
Support from management
management is very poor with little to no actual knowledge of the industry.
Coworkers are very helpful and friendly. Lots of experience with this team.
Freedom to work independently
Working is based on favoritism, if your liked you work no weekends or overtime if not prepared to work work work.
Not well informed about anything other than bad parts or bad quality.
No women on the floor where I work only in the office.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Only if knowledgeable in the field otherwise treatment the same as new hires.
Do not plan on going anywhere with 10 to 20 years of seniority for the average employee. You will work on the same machine in the same area without learning new skills elsewhere.
Overall compensation for your work
Pay is good, that's the only reason I stay. Benefits aren't great and we pay more for less every year of my 5 years so far.
Office / Work Environment
The roof leaks everywhere, water floods the floors with heavy rain, poor air quality, mold growing on walls and black dust and smoke all in the air. Very dirty environment
Not allowed to post to social media about this job with backlash of the company (ea. being fired)
No balance, all work, families do not matter it's all about making the company money. Oh yeah they have a company picnic inside the dirty facility.
No one talks good (employees) at all but you wouldn't know since no one can talk outside person to person without being threatened of getting fired.
Not a stable work environment, usually laid off at least once a year. Dependant of heavy truck/semi sales to drive workforce.
Must buy own tools, not handicap accessible whatsoever, does not hire handicap employees.
Bad training matrix. Employeess trained for minimum times and released to own shift without full knowledge of equipment. Somehow passes OSHA standards with building falling apart, leaks in roof, flooding, poor air quality and at one point water contamination.
This job takes a lot of skill and some prior knowledge of lathes. Some people just starting out can takes months of training to learn one machine.
Inclusive / Diverse
Very diverse company.
Suggestions for improvement
- Listen to employees, fix facility or tear down and rebuild (best solution), provided clean air solutions, hire knowledgeable management.
What I like about the company
The pay is good, coworkers are nice.
What I dislike about the company
Everything outside of pay and nice coworkers.
