This company has all the best intentions but i believe their strive for excellence in their type of profession is causing them to forget the people that are working the hardest to keep the company going.
Support from management
Like a good bit of companies these days SMI is a clique based system, depending on who you are friendly with the most, thats how you get more projects or work you're way up.
The call center alone tackles the hardest job, and they all do it together.
Freedom to work independently
There is no independent work at SMI, your every move is watched on a point bases.
Smi has an open door policy... but honestly it feels like no voice is heard no matter how high in power you go.
90% of SMIone are females, so as a male it can be kind of hard to move up or go anywhere in the call center alone due all upper management are females.
Attitude towards older colleagues
At SMi no matter how long you have worked for them, there are no raises and hard to move up . The definitely keep it equal for everyone.
Dont plan on going to far to quickly here.
Overall compensation for your work
For a multimillion dollar company you could get paid more else where.
Office / Work Environment
Very busy with someone watching your every move every second.
Honestly it depends on who you run in to, management can act a little superior so most try to avoid them but other CSRs are always friendly.
At SMI the needs of the call center come before any needs that you may have in your life. No matter what it may be its never more important than the call centers needs.
if you are good at what you do here you can stay as long as you want... in the exact same position.
Inclusive / Diverse
The smile community is very diverse. Keeps an open friendly environment.
Suggestions for improvement
- This company needs be more empathetic towards it call center workers, as well as pay more for those who have been there longer and that do more. It is beyond unfair that people that have been there for years are only making 20 cents more than new hires.
What I like about the company
I like their intentions and strive to be the best.
What I dislike about the company
That they hard their eyes focused so hard on the prize they are losing sight of what is making people want to leave.
