There is an obvious divide in the culture of the company. Everyone is at war with each other.
Support from management
My manager was afraid of everyone, and played dumb in order to keep her job, even though she was not helping or standing up for her employees.
What teamwork? Everyone is out for themselves. My position was expected to help everyone else but would not receive help unless it was someone taking over my job so that I could help another department.
Freedom to work independently
There was either too much freedom or not enough, either way the balance was off. It may seem like a good thing to have a lot of freedom, but there was also a lacking in structure.
There is no communication, The owner yells and rants about things he doesn't understand until someone is in trouble and the whole program changes.
There is no room to move up.
Overall compensation for your work
They think that giving you more money means you should act like you owe them something.
Office / Work Environment
mentally abusive environement
A lot of employees would be asked to work Saturdays, I would often take work home to do at night and on the weekends, but some managers are always working and expected to work all the time.
The only thing they care about.
You are always replaceable.
You are always stuck in the same position doing the same thing.
Suggestions for improvement
- Get rid of the president and his secretary. They are bullies and think they can push people around. It would be nice if the owner of the company knew exactly how things ran instead of making things up as he goes along.
What I like about the company
There are a few good people who will hopefully find better opportunities and leave soon, they deserve better.
