Company Culture

Not very inviting from coworkers welcoming a new person. Have to be strong and ask lots of questions to learn.

Support from management

Management was observed gossiping with employees. Very unprofessional.

Teamwork

Lots of meetings which was the best time to learn new things.

Freedom to work independently

You definitely worked independently as an intern. Get in and learn what you can and get out. Employees were micro managed.

Internal Communication

If you don’t ask they don’t share.

Too many women and not enough males to balance the work place out.

I learned a lot and watched the star employees.

I was an unpaid intern but the experience was priceless.

Upper Management could use some cleaning up. Some employees were nice.

All the interns that I came in with accepted employment with other companies.

Elevator access and large restrooms.

Notes were challenging but worth learning how to be efficient in this area was worth it for me.

All backgrounds were working there.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Company needs to train interns and new employees better. Management needs to act professional and set good examples for the company they are representing.

What I like about the company

Learned a lot by being nosey and asking lots of questions.

What I dislike about the company

Gossiping environment. Some employees were bullied.

Company Culture

This is purported as a "recovery oriented" facility, but is currently not operating as such. Internal culture is one of contempt, fear and loathing covered in a layer of artificiality. Pandering and lip-service are the rule while actively discouraging change and growth.

Support from management

Inexperienced, insecure administrator creates unhealthy and dangerous environment for employees and clients.

Teamwork

Dishonest, openly hostile and manipulative.

Freedom to work independently

Damned if you took responsibility, or if you didn't. Your fault in any case. Scapegoating tremendously popular for relieving admin anxiety.

Gender Equality

Palpable racial tension and hostility. Not sexism.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Dog eat dog.

Career Development

Admin did nothing but contribute to surprisingly chaotic, unprofessional, noisy, inappropriately casual work environment which bred disrespect and lacked appropriate boundaries. Insecure admin consistently undermined others efforts. Very unhealthy, contentious, disingenuous environment. No stability or growth possible.

Overall compensation for your work

Money was decent for supervisors. Nothing is worth dealing with this much professional disfunction and active abuse.

Office / Work Environment

Lack of adequate safe parking. There was an inexplicable lack of understanding of the basic need for reliable supply of toilet tissue and hand soap in the employee non-admin bathrooms.

Work-Life Balance

Admin would pressure employees to attend non-work "team-building" events on weekends. Admin is unmarried and w/o children so...

Job Security

Not at all. Very high turn over from this location.

Two words: power theft.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Experienced, professional, qualified, preferably licensed administrator. Proper Clinical Supervisor as a priority. Adherence of ALL employees to professional standards of conduct and respect of others.

What I dislike about the company

Not adhering to stated mission. This is not a recovery-centered, nor client-centered environment. Clients are a means to a paycheck and not treated with respect. Too many unlicensed employees without qualified supervision consistently operating out of their scope and education level / ability. A travesty of stated goals. Creates an unnecessarily unstable, dangerous environment for their forensic and SMI client population.
