Suggestions for improvement

  • Employee's are people not numbers. Don't call a review a merit review when it has no effect on whether you will get a raise or not. Nothing meritorious about it. The director or VP of your division gets a lump sum of money and they distribute as they choose. There is no mechanism or structure to follow, so it doesn't matter if you get all 5's(high as you can get) if they don't like you or are told by higher ups to make sure somebody's niece or nephew or cousin gets a raise you are up the creek regardless of your productivity or effort.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Get a new president that has a better sense of the strength of Teledyne Brown Eng. and you will at least fight for employee jobs when the West Coast wants to cut.

What I like about the company

My immediate supervisor and people at that level. President and upper level staff care only for revenue to impress West Coast no concern for employee.

What I dislike about the company

To much nepotism. If you have an aunt or uncle or cousin or brother-in-law in upper management you WILL get special and preferential treatment. When work is low these are the people that are protected.

Support from Management

No accountability for people that actually cause the problem. A lot of responsibility without compensation to the people that have to catch mistakes or carelessness by others. The feeling of obsoleteness is never good but that's how one would feel being closer to the bottom.

Teamwork

Everybody would rather pass blame and most employees have no character or honor. Rather then help they'd rather see you be the one being the ultimate blame. Problems could be resolved before hand but no one speaks up. If I speak then I am not taken seriously because no one will co sign because they would rather be quiet but complain later.
