Have diversity groups but when expressing an interest in joining - no encouragement from above to be involved.
Support from management
The expectations would change on a daily basis. Yes, there were monthly, quarterly goals set but management only seem to work in crisis mode.
Depended on which group you were working with that day or rotation.
Freedom to work independently
No trust, everything is monitored down to length of breaks and lunches.
The only time other then at quarterly department meetings to get updates on where the goals were, was if you went looking for them on the company website then you had to know where to look.
Depends on who you ask - for the most part it could be.
Attitude towards older colleagues
From what I saw of, no this company doesn't appreciate senior colleagues.
No there is no career development for personnel on the manufacturing floor. If you want to attend college, you had better make sure the classes can be scheduled around your shift. Management doesn't work with personnel so they can go back to college to obtain a degree for professional advancement.
Overall compensation for your work
There is nothing to rave about. They pay enough to live paycheck to paycheck.
Office / Work Environment
The environment depended on what level you were within the company to be comfortable. If you were on the production floor, it was 12 hour shifts with very little time to sit for 5 minutes unless on break.
There is a program in place but not really encouraged to get personnel on board.
There is no work-life balance for the personnel in manufacturing.
Most people know about this company, it's been around for years.
Job security lasts only as long as you keep your nose clean.
The older buildings on the compass don't really have descent accessibility.
That's one thing this company is really pushing because in years past they have had a lot injuries that caused lost work time.
You are not acknowledged for your work on the manufacturing floor.
Inclusive / Diverse
The value depends on what management is after in ideas and opinions.
Suggestions for improvement
- Quit working in crises mode. It puts undue stress on personnel running the equipment.
What I like about the company
What was really great about this company is the many friends I made over the years working there.
What I dislike about the company
There is SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) that management liked to ignore because product needed to get to the customer by said date so get an email out to get the work done instead of putting in a special work order to change the procedure to have everyone on board for the next shipment.
