The company tries to make new employees feel welcome.
Support from management
As a new employee, I was put in a facility where I was the only Veteran Counselor present. I didn't receive adequate training from my management in order to fulfill my duties. I was isolated from everyone else. Oftentimes, I felt myself "scrambling" on important details pertains to my job.
I was in an area away from the seasoned workers; therefore, I had issues trying to reach them for assistance. I was brand new. It was a "hit and miss."
Freedom to work independently
I was in a facility where I had no choice but to work independently. I was the only Veteran Counselor assigned there.
There was constant communication from the higher echelon.
There were no issues regarding gender equality. Everyone was treated equally regardless of gender.
Attitude towards older colleagues
They were shown with the utmost respect. I enjoyed being around them. They all seemed to have a great work ethic.
You had to earn it. It could take a long time before you were promoted.
Overall compensation for your work
The salary was low. There was a lot of work that had to be done, but I don't think that the salary was commensurate with all of the responsibilities involved.
Office / Work Environment
It was challenging at times. There were days when there were a lot of screaming children in the office. It was hard to concentrate at times.
I worked only on weekdays.
It has a good reputation throughout the state for helping Veterans.
You had to meet quotas that, sometimes, you had no control over. If they weren't met, your probationary period could be extended or you would be terminated.
It was available.
Had measures in place to ensure safety. (Security was present).
Yes. If the Veterans that you were trying to assist couldn't be reached, then it could appear that you weren't reaching out to them.
Inclusive / Diverse
We had a diverse group of people there. I enjoyed it.
