Suggestions for improvement
- One of the first suggestions I have is not working here. The next is better communication. There a three departments that work there and all three found out information a different times. My manager was always 3-4 days late if at all to inform us on policy changes. I keep in contact with some former coworkers there. It sounds like big changes are in progress there. They claim to be a family run and family mindset company, but they recently hired a new president that is not a part of the family and was actually from Cargill. They treated employees like numbers not people that they cared about, which is exactly opposite of what they claim.
What I like about the company
Working at the ethanol plant provided good wages, had a decent vacation program, mediocre benefits.
What I dislike about the company
They give you a decent amount of vacation time, but they do not make it easy to use it. You have to submit a form and wait up to a week to get it back and as long as there is no one else off that was critical to a crew. They also gave 2 weeks of sick time, but if you used it you were disciplined. Even with a doctor's note. You are not allowed to have your cell outside of your car. If you have it in your locker you get disciplined, again. To your face they act as if they are willing to work with you on any issue you have, but they rarely take care of any issue you have. Communication is very limited. Everything is a secret. I know some of the points I am bringing up seem irrelevant or petty but I worked here since the site started and it steadily went downhill.
