Suggestions for improvement

  • The technology is lacking. I do understand that the funding is tight but to offer a tech class to the students and then not have any working tech is a big let down for everyone.

What I like about the company

I loved seeing how enthusiastic the kids were to learn something new! They were very happy and egar to learn which was wonderful to me since I was there to teach.

What I dislike about the company

I did not like that the job I was told about in the interview was not exactly what it was once I started. I think that a clear bullet point list of job responsibilities being agreed upon, and signed, by the manager and the new hire would be a good way to prevent the management from changing an employees job responsibilities on the fly.

Suggestions for improvement

  • I would implement staff bonding nights. I would show more appreciation for staff by offering them a paid holiday for working there for so many years. I would offer paid maternity leave and more of a discount for daycare.

What I like about the company

I started working as an assistant teacher in 2010 and was quickly moved up to teacher. I was given many opportunities to grow and learn. I was given a phonics instructor position and taught a 30 minute phonics class to 3 of the classes. After 5 years there I was given the assistant director position. I have been given raises every year and my boss is very flexible regarding hours.

What I dislike about the company

My boss is fantastic but is saddled with many responsibilities that take her away from the preschool. She is supposed to do formal observations for each classroom but never gets to do them because she is being pulled by her boss to do human resources. That is the reason I became assistant director to help her with all of the responsibilities but it ends up pulling me out of the classroom which is where I am the happiest. I just wish that the trickle down of extra responsibilities would end so I can focus more on my classroom and less about staffing issues.
