Support from management
Too many supervisors whose never available for the residents. No real supervision of the employees work performances on a daily basis. Not asking our residents about how they are being cared for. Our residents have very strong views about what's going on with their care, but we don't have supervisors who will take time to talk to them.
Our management don't encourage teamwork, it seems like they are promoting division amongst the different positions. No one wants to help make this place Great again.
Freedom to work independently
Some employees don't respect our residents wishes.
The communication is horrible! Too many chiefs and not enough Indians, if you get what I'm saying.
Our managers don't appreciate the work that we do.
Attitude towards older colleagues
With new management they totally over looked the long-serving colleagues to bring in and promote new employees who don't know our residents. Even giving away positions that long-serving colleagues put in for. Management hired new employees and promoted them without being here for 90 days. Then management put off giving evaluations and raises to the long-serving employees who have worked hard for their annual raise.
No, management completely over look in-house advancement unless it's some one they personally like.
Overall compensation for your work
Yes and no. I think that they should offer shift differential.
Office / Work Environment
Yes. Not enough assistance to help the residents with cleaning their apartments, so that they are safe to move about in their apartments.
They don't go around to our residents apartments to talk to them. So management don't know what's really going on until families call them upset about their loved ones care. Communication is key between the employers, employees and our residents.
Vacations are OK. We did have set schedules, that made it easier to manage work and family life. But then that all changed with new management. The way our work hours are set-up now is mothers aren't getting home in time for their children due to the change in hours and there is no proper shift report given because of the laps in the start and end times, especially during night shift shift change. I think it was inconsiderate of corporate to change shift times without taking patient care and their employees into consideration.
No and that's all around the country. Century Park needs to change this image. There is great potential with this company if we had great long term management.
I love the work that I do. Yes I feel accomplished when I'm with a resident and my resident thanks me for caring and giving them great care. I don't look for my residents to thank me, but it always warms my heart to know that I helped put a smile on their faces.
