This rating reflects now. It has changed for the better in recent years.
Support from management
The attitude is good.
We have been and continue to be geographically spread which has hampered strong teamwork. This has improved substantially in recent years.
Freedom to work independently
The expectation is that we're self motivated and make decisions as if we're owners. I am.
I wouldn't say the workforce is equally distributed across many functional areas but that is at least somewhat a reflection of the markets we serve. I have no idea if we pay fairly across genders as that information is not accessible to me.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Not sure. I don't see specific bias in this area.
We've been poor at training, development and providing opportunity. It's known and at least some attempts are being made to address this.
Overall compensation for your work
Office / Work Environment
The physical environment here is excellent.
We used to have recycling receptacles. They were removed as part of cost cutting but should be reinstated.
This has varied significantly over time. It has settled into a reasonable situation for me.
Mixed bag. There are areas where we outperform our competition and some areas where susbstantial progress needs to occur.
Has varied but seems stable currently.
I'm not impaired but from what I can tell this building is handicap friendly.
It's an area we need to always improve on and we have been doing better companywide.
If it wasn't challenging, the company wouldn't need us.
Inclusive / Diverse
Probably reflects society
Suggestions for improvement
- We lack standard processes for many activities and consistency in the processes we do have from location to location. Related to this we would benefit greatly from all using E1 to drive everything (one system, one source of information for all) and taking measures to ensure that system has impeccable data upkeep and integrity.
What I like about the company
Comfortable office environment. Many good co-workers.
What I dislike about the company
Plenty of operational crises. Some of it is self inflicted from company changes and structural transitions we've undertaken. Some of that is the nature of the markets/customers we serve.
