Suggestions for improvement
- Even more diversity in hiring (backgrounds, subject matter expertise, etc.), better benefits than their competitors, and stronger organizational infrastructure balanced against containment of expanding bureaucracy.
What I like about the company
The company culture emphasises compassion and excellence and generally hires people that meet these kinds of expectations. The senior leadership take company morale very seriously and make sure to have day long reconnects ever quarter to make sure everyone has a chance to meet one another and learn about the latest developments. Once a year, an organization-wide retreat is held for several days. For an organizational culture, it doesn't get much better than this.
What I dislike about the company
There was traditionally a definite bias toward Ivy league candidates in hiring but it seems to have gotten better over time. For non-consultant roles, there isn't much of a career development program but they have made huge strides in creating multi-modal talent paths within the organization during the past 3 - 4 years. Having said that, the average "Chartisan" is treated with more dignity and respect than 99% of companies out there treat their own employees. Lastly, to expand beyond the typical clients consisting of the dominant regional players. More support of entrepreneurial companies in US healthcare could use Chartis smarts to help our industry evolve.
