Teamwork

So-SO

Freedom to work independently

Definitely does.

Internal Communication

Fairly good with communicating, has some room to grow.

Gender Equality

For sure!

Attitude towards older colleagues

Yes!

Career Development

I didn't really see this in my department.

Overall compensation for your work

No. I went to college for what I did and got paid basically minimum wage. Didn't even see a good increase in pay for the 2 years working there.

Office / Work Environment

Worked in an old building, not good temperature control, sneezed all the time, when it rained water would drip through the ceiling and would only patch up with plastic. But we got new chairs.

Environmental Friendliness

Recycling bins, but prints everything.

Work-Life Balance

Somewhat good in this area. Not always good for figuring out fair hours.

Company Image

I'm proud that I'm not not working there, ha.

Job Security

Yes.

Handicapped Accessibility

I don't remember bathrooms on the main floors.

Workplace Safety

Not sure, I was sitting at a desk, but did have to "watch" and "read" safety protocols.

Inclusive / Diverse

Not quite sure.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Oh, I put that in the other question. Woops, haha.

What I like about the company

Good for growing in a fast paced environment. Will definitely teach you how to meet deadlines and manage time correctly. Co-workers are nice and fun to be around. Good amount of employee appreciation events. Christmas presents. Good benefits, if you can afford it.

What I dislike about the company

Management in my department wanted to be one of the gang and wasn't the best at actually managing. I'd suggest of being fair minded and learning how to delegate tasks, have meetings when all employees are working (not including sick or vacation). Watch all employees equally (lots of co-workers would play on phone when the manager would leave and I would pick up slack). Other co-workers would do bare minimum of work to get by, I'd suggest working ahead when in a slump, makes life easier. To the iwner, fix all problems in the building. Leaky roof, temperature problems (more air ducts), try to get more parking spaces or offer to buy parking passes. I had accrued a LOT of parking tickets during busy times. They're your employees, you should be responsible for finding then places to park so they can work for you, not spend what little money they make to get a pass.

Support from management

Unrealistic expectations unless you can do 6 things at a time.

Internal Communication

Always a surprise as they tell you little

Career Development

no advancement opportunity

Overall compensation for your work

Could have made same pay rate flipping burgers at the amount of time needed to do job

Office / Work Environment

Prepare for all weather conditions and long days

Work-Life Balance

What life outside of job

Job Security

Security is fine unless you get sick. Then they push you out and look for the next drone.

Challenging Work

Always a new problem to solve.

Suggestions for improvement

  • New management!!!!!

What I like about the company

The co workers were great. Work well as a team even when being micro managed by supervisor.

What I dislike about the company

Long days and short nights. Working 7 days a week is not uncommon and prepare for weeks that can be more than 70 hours and in all weather conditions. Also be prepared to beat your car into the ground getting the work done.
