Suggestions for improvement
- Cross train employees. Encourage and tell people theyre doing good work during corporate visits. Dont put so much pressure on collecting rewards numbers. As a consumer myself, i find it incredibly irritating when people constantly ask for my email/phone number. At least make tbe rewards worth giving out my personal information.
What I like about the company
The people you work directly with are usually clever, fun folks who share interest in arts and crafts. Lots of pleasant customers who truly appreciate help and ideas with projects. It's rewarding seeing the creative lightbulb go off when a customer figures out what they want/need to do.
What I dislike about the company
Upper management wants you to do more and more with less and less hours. It's incredibly stressful and you don't feel appreciated for what you do complete.
The rewards are a scam and offer little of value to the customer while Michael's tracks what you buy and how frequently you shop.
Sticking cashiers on register their entire shift is torture. Let them swap with a floor worker every couple hours so they get some time away from the counter and learn the store.
