My boss sends me to continuing education to further my career. She counts on me as a support system for other locations. I feel like I am valuable to my organization.

People have it so good, that even if they leave for "greener pastures", they usually come back.

Internal Communication

Sr Leadership usually goes out of their way to periodically hold luncheons to communicate new vision, information and expectations as a whole.

Attitude towards older colleagues

It depends on who you are/what part you play within the company. Many people have been here for 25+ years and some seniors have given their last days here (3 have passed away in the past 3 yrs that I have been employeed), while others don't even get a raise. It's very strange.

Career Development

There are yearly Acheiver's Summits and retreats for the over-acheivers of the company as a whole and there are always classes provided such as CPR training and Personal Training etc.

Office / Work Environment

We are moving to a new building due to rapid growth and insufficient square footage to build more offices here. The current building has some HVAC issues, but it is beautiful.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Give more than just a 3% raise every year.

What I like about the company

There are multiple Employee Appreciation Days throughout the year; also Admin Assistants get flowers and are recognized on their day in May, not to mention the opportunity to get recognized via Team Mate of the Year or Employee of the Month etc. Yearly, the company pays for a group of Executives (20-30 people) to travel to a Guatemalan sailfish competition in February. At IRM everyone gets an extra 2 weeks pay for a Christmas bonus. They've also been implementing Employee Surveys within the last few years for feedback.

What I dislike about the company

Managment consistancy doesn't exist if you compare companies/depts within the organization. Each manager does whatever they want to do. Sometimes it causes jealousy and unfair advantages.
