Zero tolerance to workplace violence. Emphasis on hard work and team effort. At the same time, new employees may be “tested” by other team members.
Support from management
Hard to say. From one hand, they appear yo be extremely supportive. From another hand, sometimes it feels they want to confuse you with opposing directions.
Too little straighforward communication, too many equivocal phrases that can be understood differently. Also a lot of talking behind one’s back. People prefer reporting one to the managers rather than discussing between themselves.
It’s still considered acceptable to help a female to lift anything heavier that a pound, even if she doesn’t as for help. Also you can still hear things like “mothers are irreplaceable, fathers are not, it’s for the children”, assuming that women should stay home and mind babies, and men can’t take care of their own kids. Is it really a 21st century?
Attitude towards older colleagues
They value experience and skills, not age.
Overall compensation for your work
I later found a less stressful job for better money.
Office / Work Environment
Some people are certainly favored more than others. And it’s not work related.
Difficult to get vacations.
Great emphasis on safety.
Inclusive / Diverse
They are inclusive toward recognized “protected classes” only.
What I like about the company
Culture of hard work and safety. Valuing skilled employees. Teamwork.
What I dislike about the company
Poor work-life balance, lack of straighfordwarness in communication, “testing” new employees, management favoring some people over other.
