The company definitely does not contribute to a work climate of fairness and trust
Support from management
The employer absolutely does not involve employees in decision-making, and in fact, will make decisions and expect it to be carried out without discussion
The employees were lovely and work well together
Attitude towards older colleagues
Long term workers are not valued and appreciated, and are often let go so that they may bring in younger, cheaper workers
Overall compensation for your work
Wages are extremely low, benefits are getting a little better
Office / Work Environment
A/C never seems to work properly, always hot or freezing.
It is expected that employees show up for most school functions and they do keep track.
The image does not reflect reality. The company is very, very good with their marketing, but morale with workers is very low, and talk amongst employees is almost never positive about employer
Your job is never safe at this school. The turnover rate is horrendous. As many as 10 firings in a year during one of the years I worked there. They average 3-4 firings a year and will tell the employee that they "aren't Sagemont material."
There is two elevators for the disabled.
Working conditions comply, but there is no training to ensure an accident-free workplace
Suggestions for improvement
- Let teachers have more say over their curriculum and the ways they teach it. There is too much nitpicking, and there is way too much power for the parents and students to dictate what happens in the classroom. Parents and students have too much power and the administration does not support the teachers if there are parents that complain too much or loudly.
