Suggestions for improvement

  • It is an old building so definitely it could use some renovations. Also I wish they had a bigger budget so they could hire more workers. New office equipment and furniture would be nice. And I also wish they had a security officer on site because it is not in a great location in Chelsea. I would feel much safer if we did have some security because everyone and anyone is welcome to come by for help.

What I like about the company

I love working for the Salvatiion Army because every day they helpo people in many different areas. The lkocation I workm for offers free lunch every day for the elderly any anyone in need,..We have a food bank where people and low income families can come once a month for food. We have a daycare and after school program for low income families. We also have a big Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner . All are welcome. We also have a Christmas Angel Program that helps families with toys, coats, hats & gloves for their children. We have a coat drive every winter. I can go on and on for hours about all the beautiful things I have witnessed working there. There is so much love and understanding at the Salvatioin Army. Noone is ever judged and everyone is treated equally. Salvatiion Army is a Christian Program but any Religion is welcome. I am truly Grateful that I have the opportunity to see so much human kindness and love on a daily basis.

What I dislike about the company

I really don't have too many negative things to say about working for The Salvation Army bjut like all jobs where you work with the public you will always run into difficult people but you have to keep a professional demeanor and attitude. I wish they could hire more employees because the work load can get heavy most days but I also understand they have a budget they have tp adhere to.

The people are very welcoming and legitimately care about you. Except for the "operations manager" who over See's the warehouse. He thinks he's the end all be all. Guy is a joke, don't work in operations.
