Suggestions for improvement

  • All supervisors/administrators should know every persons job he/she is over. All open or available positions should be open for advancement within the department first. Rules for the support staff should also apply to the Administration. Administration should consider the support staffs opinions, ideas and input before implementing a new idea or changes within the department. Appreciation to the support staff should be shown by the administration; and all staff should be treated with respect of each other and not looked down on because of their job title. Also incentives would be a nice way to get honey from the working bees.

What I like about the company

Company provides free health insurance along with other heath insurance options the employee pays for; in addition you can get vision and dental insurance at a low cost. Some employees work only 10 months out of the year, others 12 months. Sick leave and vacation for the 12 month employees. Sick leave only for the 10 month employees. Sick leave is cumulative and vacation is only cumulative up to 480 hours. Mileage during work hours reimbursed, travel expenses reimbursement varies. Pension after 30 yrs of service or when you reach retirement age; which ever comes first. May enter drop program 5 years prior to retirement which will add money to your retirement with unused sick leave and vacation (not sure if this is something that has changed for new employees or not, governor Scott may have changed this. Majority of people are great to work with. Employed 21 years 9 years left :)

What I dislike about the company

There are employees who do a lot of work and get little pay; while others get lots of pay and do nothing or next to nothing. It seems as though people who know someone in the company get hired in better jobs; where there are qualified personnel already working for the company who could easily get an advancement. The support staff are the glue to any company; and it seems they are the ones who get over looked. There seems to be one set of rules for some employees and another set for the others. Also, I think the health insurance is way too expensive when adding a spouse, and some medicine it doesn't cover that can be quite expensive and if paid for could prevent a more serious condition to arise resulting in hospitalization.
