Overall compensation for your work
Its allbased on how much you sell. This is a sales position and thats about the extent of it. Strictly commission. No base pay or hourly+ but if the whole store does well that month you'll recieve a very small bonus.
You must work 9 hours a day 6 days a week. Saturday's are mandatory so dont think of making any plans and you'll work 8-6. Your shift will very everyday and change every week. And if something comes up in your life they arent willing to cut your hours back a little. They think 50-55 hours a week is no big deal and apparently no one who works here has a significant other or a family that enjoys spending time with them.
If you cant pick up boxes of tile all day you cant do this job. Your title will be design consultant but really you are a sales person selling the tile and other products. But also, even though there is a warehouse person there throughout the week, you will be loading all customers who are taking product home. Meaning lifting 50-75 lb boxes of tile, 50 lb bags of mix. And if you cant do that or arent comfortable doing it the job isnt for you. They wont tell you this up front though. You wont know how much your straining your body until you look into it yourself. And if you think about asking someone for help, think again. Theyre all too busy worrying about their paycheck to help you with yours
Since you arent the warehouse manager you wont necessarily be trained to do certain tasks but you will still be expected to do them.
Sure if you want your paycheck to rely on whether or not people want the products and want to spend the kind of money on them. But if its slow season and no one is remodelling you'll be sitting around a dead store starring off with no money in your pocket because its commission and commission only.
Inclusive / Diverse
Theu want young employees who can run around the huge store for 9 hours. Who can carry 75 lb boxes of tile around the store like its no big deal.
