Suggestions for improvement
- Streamlining the hiring process would be very useful, particularly when it comes to email accounts and access to training, which can turn into an IT nightmare. Would also suggest adding some small touches to the environment that show care for the employees, such as a coffee machine, hand lotion in the bathroom, things like that. Perhaps some of these things are already available behind the nurses station, but that creates unnecessary division amongst employees.
What I like about the company
Some fantastic and kind nurses to work with, who have made terrible days better with their support and sense of humor. The hospital sends out a weekly email highlighting people who have gone above and beyond and made a difference, which is a nice touch.
What I dislike about the company
There is little consistency in the rules and procedures of the research center, which makes work frustrating and difficult. Some of the laboratory staff can be rude and overly proprietary, even when concerning the work done on others' studies. More communication of rule changes, especially in advance, would clear up a great deal of confusion, also, assuming that others mean well and want to help would go a long way to improving the workplace culture.
