What I like about the company
I have been here 17 years. Overall, it has been a great place to work, but the last 3-5 years have seen a lot of challenges. The people I work with on a day to day basis are great and really care about their work. We are proud of the work we do here, even as we have had to do it with less resources in recent years. I have a positive relationship with my immediate supervisor, who offers me the support I need in my job and autonomy in completing my duties. Our health insurance benefits are excellent. I was also able to complete a masters degree while working and without accruing any student loans due to the tuition waiver we are offered. We have recently acquired new management at the highest levels, and I am hopeful that we will soon be moving in a positive new direction that continues to offer an excellent education to our students and creates a great environment for employees.
What I dislike about the company
There could be more transparency and communication. We have experienced significant challenges in the last 3-5 years, and efforts to fix them have felt like band aids and reactive rather than proactive attempts to address the situation. Much of the reasoning behind decisions has not been made clear to those of us lower in the organization, and has created an atmosphere of uncertainty and instability. However, I feel that the new leadership is taking positive steps to address these issues.
