My workplace is failry diverse culturally.
Support from management
I am somewhat supported by management.
We have to work independently but at the same time work together with our teammates.
Freedom to work independently
We have to be able to work well alone for the most part.
We meet regularly to discuss goals and to stay updated on things.
I feel the pay and hours are not suitable for women esp mothers. I feel like if it were a male dominated workplace things would be more fair , more giving.
Attitude towards older colleagues
No age discrimination. Older employees are valued.
There is opportunity for financial help if someone wants to go back to school and further their education.
Overall compensation for your work
We are below the average for payscale both within the state and way behind on a national level.
Office / Work Environment
Our area could use some updating but overall it is acceptable.
Not too much emphasis placed in recycling here.
We could do better working with parents...like job sharing, weekend only shifts etc
Proud of the work we do here.
Very stable, high demand for my position.
All restrooms are handicapped accessible ,
Safety is held in high esteem here. We have yearly tests to make sure we are up to date on safety issues.
Work is always a new situation, very challenging at times.
Inclusive / Diverse
There are committees set up just to share ideas.
Suggestions for improvement
- Make the schedule work for moms who want to job share or only work weekends. Provide an onsite daycare. Raise the pay and you will never be short of employees.
What I like about the company
The job is very rewarding. Benefits are very good.
What I dislike about the company
The low payscale. The refusal to work with young mothers on a more flexible schedule.
