What I like

There are many good people that work for here and i think that when times are hard we all pull together and get stuff done. The ability to take educational benefit is helpful but aslo hard when you work full time. With good support and helpful leaders is easier to accomplish.

What I dislike

Well nothing is ever perfect and i would say we are always looking for a bit more attention to what we are dealing with in the day to day. Mostly thing run well but you do see some disconnect from administration level to who is working on the floors. Feel like that's how it always is though. We all have different goals.

Suggestions for improvement

Im not sure if you can increase the 401k matched or increase the amount of payment we get for different position

What I like

Overall benefits outweigh concerns in my case. All are encouraged to voice opinions and discuss concerns but few are allowed to freely troubleshoot and solve.

What I dislike

Micromanaging- this also varies by department and or area.

Suggestions for improvement

Allowing employees to troubleshoot and problem solve without micromanaging.

Work-Life Balance

This depends on the area.

Career Development

Most departments offer additional training, some do not.

Inclusive / Diverse

We are encouraged to share thoughts but they are rarely heard or acknowledged.

Teamwork

We need to work together but cannot solve anything ourselves if it’s not a problem related to employees

Support from management

Upper yes, direct no.

Office / Work Environment

Temperature control is routinely a problem.

Internal Communication

They try but they fail quite often.

Freedom to work independently

This is dependent upon the area.

What I dislike

We have to pay for parking passes and it’s nearly impossible to find a spot. It’s also a fairly large company so sometimes I feel like a cog in the system.

What I like

Just today I was told by my manager, “I want to let you know that your work has been tremendous and it is not going unnoticed so thank you”. Employees are recognized. Life work balance can be achieved. We say hi to each other as we pass in the halls. Everyone acts on the same team.

What I dislike

While there are plenty of parking options they require a paid permit and good sized walk.

Suggestions for improvement

Extend from 6 to 12 weeks paid maternity and paternity leave. Update computers in workspaces.

Company Culture

Everyone loves working here. Every person is accepted for who they are. Opportunities are available for everyone.

Overall compensation for your work

The benefit package is out of this world

Teamwork

What I like

It is a large company and their are many moving parts, but there seems to be a sense of unity and shared purpose among its employees. While finances are always important, it does not appear to be the only thing considered by management

What I dislike

I wish they would provide more recycling receptacles and push recycling more. I wish the middle management was not stretched so thin and had more time to focus on building up their staff.

Suggestions for improvement

more recycling bins-more parking spaces

Company Culture

U of U gives great benefits

Company Image

Overall it is a positive experience

Work-Life Balance

Trying to emphasize wellness more
