Suggestions for improvement
- I've only worked there for 1.5 months, so I only have so much to say so far! The only thing I've noticed is that the Memory Care unit could use more festive decorations for this time of year. It's a relatively small suggestion, and the unit already has some nice decor. But it could use more. :-)
What I like about the company
It's an assisted living facility, so the company makes sure to have a clean and nurturing environment for the seniors. The Memory Care unit for elders with Dementia is in the same building as the elders without Dementia.
I've worked at the company for only 1.5 months and have gone to 2 or 3 paid trainings already. The company really seems to value family life and being involved with the community. As an activities assistant, I've noticed that the other assistants and Home Health Aides are very helpful with information (I'm still learning things!). Plus the higher ups actually seem to care about the community, unlike a previous assisted living facility that I worked at.
What I dislike about the company
The only thing that made me feel bad was when I audited the rooms for NY State. I had to indicate if any of the elders had electronics like coffee makers in their rooms. I was told that they are not allowed to have those. I suppose it is a fire code violation. I felt bad narking on some elders. But I also didn't want to go against any fire code rules.
