Some are more helpful than others.
Support from management
Yes and no. You can get a write up but the first is still always a warning.
Freedom to work independently
The company does not the DM does.
I don't feel like I'm getting everything that was agreed upon before my onboarding.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Everyone is allowed to work.
Held back because I'm new.
Overall compensation for your work
No. Was promised one thing and got something completely different, then they took away commission for the managers.
Office / Work Environment
Yes and no. No break room and using a mini fridge.
Yes. We have a recycle can in the break area
Not really managers are required to work 44 hours mandatory and no weekends off.
Want what I was promised.
Yes. I sell a lot of shoes and accessories. My sales only need to be 30% of the stores total sales
You have to prop open the doors.
New training updated weekly.
Suggestions for improvement
- Offer water coolers for employees.
What I like about the company
The assistant manager has been the most helpful person there. She is always there to answer my stupid questions. She is a open book of information and guidance.
What I dislike about the company
Not paying enough. Managers work either 8:30am- 6:30 or 11am-9:30pm, they only get one day off between Fri-Mon, not a good balance between work and home life to justify working that many hours. It's footwear not healthcare.
