Suggestions for improvement
- Spend more money on supplies. Especially ink cartridges for the printers. Be a little more sensitive to winter weather and travel. Advertise all openings in the company so that others may also have a chance to apply. Show more appreciation to those loal employees who have worked for the company for many years. when we were owned by our previous, once a year they would take us out for lunch ( anyone who was with the company for over 10 years) on the day of a milestone anniversary, we would have a compny wide meeting and give a small gift to that person. now if your anniversary is in Feb you have to wait until the summer or end of the year for recognition and $25.00 gift card to Amazon. One year, they gave me a recognition on a day I was out???? it woud have been nice to schedule it when I was in the office?
What I like about the company
they pay a large part of our healthcare , life insurance and dental. occasionally they buy us lunch (pizza or sandwiches) give us a holiday party and $100.00 Amazon gift card. give us a company picnic in summer. this year giving us Christmas week with pa. they try... but they are cheap when it comes to buying ink cartridges or office supplies.
What I dislike about the company
They are hiring only young employees, not spending money on important items like office supplies. They wait until the ink is completely out before ordering a new one. meanwhile, how can you run a company that way?They promote young people from within witout advertising the opening to other employees. one girl went from intern, to sales, to asst warehouse manager to print manager because she is best friends with the person in HR. These openings were never posted or advertised. they will randomly send us ome early on a nice day with pay but take forever to send us home or have us stay home on a icy road or winter storm day. make us work with flashlights in the dark when the company loses electricity. one time we did not have running water for a few days o they bused us across the street to a hotel once every few hours for water fountain and restroom. The HR can stand around and talk with others about football for 20 minutes and very loud . I am on my way to go outside on my break and I am told l" I knowyou are on your break but no personal phone calls in the building"" but yet it is okay that the young employees walk around with headphones and iphones checking their e-mails and changing their music selections. nothing is said about that. just gets undermy skin. I do not say anything and just do my job in fear I may be fired. there are only a handful of us loyal long time employees left. the remaining were fired or let go. but they do not say age discrimination. they could easily pay a new young person or less and save money. Longevity and loyalty does not mean anything in this workplace."
