Lots of micromanagement in my specific location (due to area manager, director of therapy and her PTA wanting to have unnecessary authority)
Support from management
area manager (just changed jobs) and director of therapy utilized positions to give appearance of staff insubordination.
Director of therapy has her own group that she gives easy patients and gives everyone else extra minutes with difficult patients to give appearance of her close minions as having better patient outcomes.
Freedom to work independently
Forced to see patients that can't possibly benefit from service
I was given verbal warning for not immediately evaluating patients that I was not even informed were at facility.
must belong in the click or adhere to fraudulent billing practices
Attitude towards older colleagues
previous area manager, director of therapy and her PTA attempt to discredit superior intelligence and experience to co-workers, patients and facility staff (fortunately all have seen through this masquerade).
Reasonable CEU activities (although no reimbursement was ever received due to area manager sending back with silly reasoning for failing to reimburse)
Overall compensation for your work
fair, but no raises or offers since start (3 years ago)
Office / Work Environment
most staff report that they feel they must walk on egg shells around director of therapy
director of therapy and her minions are backstabbers and falsify records to their benefit
Area manager and director of therapy attempt to "rule with an iron fist" and give self and minions easy hours and schedules other therapists for long days.
Company getting poor reputation in this area due to acts of these individuals; previous staff have made many similar reports to company
Written up four times in last three years over false evidence
Essentially blind colleague was passed-over for position that he was most qualified to occupy to allow director of therapy to hire her close friend (and minion; not to mention that subsequently, the best secretary we ever had is being replaced by the minion's daughter, who had no qualification for the position - this was the last act of the outgoing area manager minion)
Wonderful facility and patients. No fear of high school antics.
The patients make the work experience great. However, is difficult to be effective at work with "knife in your back" all the time
Inclusive / Diverse
click-ish/ high school behavior
Suggestions for improvement
- Fire previous area manager, director of therapy and her close minion at Southbrook Nursing Center
What I like about the company
The company is a thriving company that provides great incentives to work. They provide services to multiple facilities throughout the US and are therapist owned.
What I dislike about the company
Poor direct management at my facility. Letting quality employees go to the whim of a worthless director of therapy and her minions (including the previous area manager)
