I love that everyone in our organization works as a team to provide the best care for our patients.

I am able to talk freely with my superiors about any issues regarding my work.

Teamwork

The people I work with are part of a closely knit team, which is something that our organization encourages and fosters.

Freedom to work independently

My colleagues and myself are able to perform our work without constant supervision.

Internal Communication

We are always kept up to date about our overall goals and we receive the results of patient satisfaction surveys.

Gender Equality

Our organization employs a diverse group of people of all races and genders

Attitude towards older colleagues

There are many older employees (myself included) in our organization, and we are treated with dignity and respect.

My salary is very fair.

Office / Work Environment

Our work area is always clean and comfortable.

Environmental Friendliness

We recycle all appropriate materials in our facility.

Work-Life Balance

My department allows for flexible work schedules and we receive a generous number of PTO days.

Company Image

Our goal is to give patients the care they need and I am proud to be part of a team that works so hard to achieve that goal.

Handicapped Accessibility

The entire facility is handicap accessible.

Workplace Safety

We receive many in-house training sessions on work safety.

Challenging Work

Many of the patients I encounter in my work are stressed and frightened, so a lot of patience and understanding is required of me while performing my job

Inclusive / Diverse

We are encouraged to make suggestions for improvement and to voice any concerns freely.

Suggestions for improvement

  • I would like to see more remote locations developed to better serve communities that are lacking healthcare options.

What I like about the company

All of the employees at our organization share the same goals and visions. This has helped forge strong teams who work so well together. Our supervisors are supportive and easy to communicate with. This type of work environment makes me love my job and want to do my best every day.

Company Culture

While Jefferson is growing they are also disconnected to their frontline staff. If you are not a physician than you are seen in a different, less valued, light. Also their internal structure is in chaos as one department or one hospital is not treated the same.

Support from management

12 people I had to directly report to and few of them agreed on the direction the department should be going.

Teamwork

When leadership is not honest then it is hard to hold others to that standard. I have had C suite leaders talk about others in my presence. Very unprofessional and it makes you think what is being said about me when I am not present.

Freedom to work independently

Too many leaders that it is almost impossible to have an independent thought.

Internal Communication

Even the Human Resource departments do not treats individuals the same.

Environmental Friendliness

There was no recycling effort in the office buildings

Company Image

It is an organization that is growing faster than it can accommodate

Challenging Work

There are too many leaders, all of which have a different idea as to how to run a department. This cause a disconnect between frontline staff and leadership. Their vision for the future is aggressive but as a company all the moving parts do not connect this making it dysfunctional.

Inclusive / Diverse

While an equal opportunity employer it is not an equal opportunity supporter of innovative ideas

Suggestions for improvement

  • The organization needs a more defined reporting structure in order to be successful in the future.

What I like about the company

One of my bosses was interactive and we worked well together. We shared a vision but unfortunately we were often over ridden. If they can ever become more coordinated with the overall structure they may be able to focus on what is most important...the individuals who deliver the care

What I dislike about the company

This organization has grown so fast that it has yet to catch up to what it needs to do in order to effectively deliver care. It makes you anxious working for them not knowing what the next restructure may be and if you will be a part of it.

Company Culture

I like the people I work with. I just don't think my manager has any clue about how hard as work.

Support from management

I frequently as out educator questions, rarely hear back answers.

Teamwork

I don't see that they care about my interactions.

Freedom to work independently

I am not sure if is trust it is just the field. But an educator checks out documentation so maybe no trust.

Internal Communication

I rarely hear communication about what is happening. It is usually my h later. Very poor feedback to start unless you don't do something.

Gender Equality

Nursing is primarily a female population.

Overall compensation for your work

They just took away my 20% shift differential. So not no competitive.

Office / Work Environment

Either too hot or cold. The lighting in supply listed is awful. The rolling computers frequently break. IT is not available to fix them regularly.

Environmental Friendliness

There is one re cycle can for the whole department, but it is the ONLY trash can do we are u able to recycle.

Work-Life Balance

I can never seem to get time off.

Handicapped Accessibility

For patients yes, staff no.

Workplace Safety

A nurse was recently stabbed. No not safe. But it has gotten better since the stabbing. Not proactive.

Challenging Work

It has become very challenging working under the budget constraints. Also the patients are older, sicker or younger drug addicts. These are very difficult populations to work with

Suggestions for improvement

  • I would allow people to indentured earned time off. I personally know several people who are not accruing time off because they have maxed out as I have. I am working but cannot get time off because we don't have the staff for people to get off.

What I like about the company

I have to say the people I have worked with for the last 15 plus years have made this job doable! We care for each other. I have lost my parents as have many of the others I work with. We support each other through lost children, divorces, surgeries, and so much more. While I feel not heard from my manager up the people I work with are great.

What I dislike about the company

The way they continue to take perks away. I just don't think they care. We used to have nurses week now we have hospital week.
