Drivers are informed of cancellations of students.
Its great to be able to balance thus type of job and home life for reasons of the split shift. On the up side you are home for dinner with the family. Summers are typically off so you can enjoy the summers with family and friends, however if you want work there's always a route if you want to be a driver or monitor.
There is always routes as a driver, and positions as a monitor.
Yes. They have multiple different vehicles from cars, small vans (7 passenger), big vans (8 passenger), vans with wheel chair ramps for students.
There is training to properly show you how to operate the wheel chair lifts, installing equipment, and check list to the vehicle.
It can be a challenge since when you transport children with minimal disabilities to severe, you are responsible for yourself and the kids you transport. Must have a sense of direction, even though you use a GPS. Strongly recommending getting one. It helps.
What I like about the company
I was with You before Mac bought the company. I started out as a monitor 3 years and a driver for 3 years. So I worked both fields. I enjoyed both. Before TLC was bought, I was able to bring my youngest son with me on the routes, which saved on daycare expenses. When it became TLC/JSC I was still able to bring my son with me. Never had any problems.
What I dislike about the company
There wasn't much that I didn't like.
