The owner will bring in pizza and gift cards to help compensate for all the extra time you have to work
Support from management
I worked there for 2 months and had 5 supervisor changes! The owner is RARELY there, and the office manager is in a whole different building and you rarely see her.
The processors work as a team because they are kind and know that if they don't help each other out at the end of the day because if not then someone has to work late and won't be paid for the time they had to stay late. They feel for each other.
Freedom to work independently
Your job duties and location can change in an instant without even being asked if you want to change.
Attitude towards older colleagues
90%+ of the work force is young people that do not know their own professional worth or are not in a position in their lives to leave this company.
There is CONSTANT turnover in this company. In the processing/customer service department the longest tenure they had was 6 months. The girl who trained me only had been there less than 2 months. I have seen a few people go to lunch and then they never come back.
Overall compensation for your work
You do NOT get paid for the time you work even though you have to punch a time clock. You have to email them the hours to your supervisor but they actually tell you how many hours to report even though you worked more hours clocked in.
Office / Work Environment
Everything is up to date tech wise. You have to carry your own trash out to the dumpster which I found to be odd.
They recycle the paper and ink toners other than that I don't know.
When you are hired you are told the job will be 9-5 with paid lunch hour. What they do NOT tell you is that you do not get paid for the extra time the work load requires you to work, you rarely take your lunch because it puts you further behind in your work load. They require you to get management approval to leave any unfinished orders before you leave for the day, so if you want to keep your job you have to work unpaid with out saying anything about it.
Employees know not to question the management or to remotely say anything negative about the company if they want to keep their job.
With extremely high turnover rate at this company everything seems unstable.
Inclusive / Diverse
NO!!! They don't want anyone to rock their boat. I even asked about having a suggestion box and was told by my supervisor in front of everyone "Why? We don't need one". Which is amazing to me because what company would ever not want to get better or hear how they can improve business.
Suggestions for improvement
- Be honest in hiring and paying people. If you hire someone and tell them they are hourly employees pay them for the time they work. Give your employees someone they can go to for help as a supervisor, not someone who is already overworked in a different department and has to be bothered to answer questions.
What I like about the company
The location of the office and the people.
What I dislike about the company
You are expected to work with out being paid. The lack of true management. The supervisors are employees who have full time duties in a different department than the employees they "manage".
