Suggestions for improvement
- Create hierarchy within departments and assign actual managers who will be responsible for managing other employees and tasks. Organize HR department and try to make employee moral high once again by improving company culture. Hire a consultant...
What I like about the company
Young company with exciting potential in a very fun industry. The company is continuing to grow and some employees have ability to travel (no additional compensation) depending on position. The office location is amazing as it is located directly across from the Boston Common and Public Garden downtown (though location likely to change in the near future) and close to the theater district and Chinatown. Overall the culture of the office is very young, though there is a recent change in many of the staff.
What I dislike about the company
There is no distinction in terms of employee hierarchy (13 employees) and also very little positive support from the business owner, making long-term, or even day-to-day, goals impossible to achieve or simply overlooked. Owner unwilling/unable to delegate effectively and generally has a negative attitude when approached with issues/ideas/suggestions, etc. Low company moral due to miscommunication, especially regarding HR related issues (NO HR department) and overall lack of direction/enthusiasm from owner.
