Suggestions for improvement
- Town management could supervise department directors more closely instead of giving them too much free reign. The recently-introduced practice of converting positions as far down as front line supervisory positions to 'at will' should be discontinued. It undermines trust, particularly in light of the department directors' lack of supervision.
What I like about the company
The job I have working for this company is a 'dream job' for me. I love it so much I have been doing it for nearly 22 years, even in spite of being paid less than my male counterparts. Got to watch the company and Town grow, have many coworkers I have known for numerous years.
What I dislike about the company
The Director of my department has too much freedom, or not enough oversight from his supervisors and is subsequently able to make ill-informed decisions that negatively impact some operations. I hear the same or similar things from coworkers in other departments as well, so it seems that perhaps all department directors could benefit from greater supervision or at least be held to higher standards.
