Contract-to-hire but, after 16 months, still no job. Always "next quarter."

Did not inform me of "hire freeze until after 6 months
Suggestions for improvement
- Be honest, don't mislead contractors, don't engage in unethical practices
What I like about the company
I was able to work remote.
What I dislike about the company
Was contract-to-hire but withheld fact that hiring freeze had been in effect for over a year.
Continued to extend me 3 months but never actually hired. I gave up after 16 months and found perm position elsewhere. Was required to fix any code defects on MY own time without compensation (ya...really)
