Supervisors and manage do not provide recognition or rewards to those who deserve it; many co-workers came in on weekends or stayed late to meet quotas but they never receive any recognition. My personal experience: I worked on a project for a year - outside of anything in my job description. The project improved quality and productivity, and saved the company money. I received no additional compensation for working on this project, no promotion, no bonus. The role I played for this project was of a significantly higher pay grade than my current position was. They just kept dangling a carrot in front of me. Why should they pay me more if they don't have to?

Supervisors are inflexible and not willing to compromise, nor do they actively help with career paths and development.
