  • When you work from home you want stability and a company that trusts you to perform your job without so much micromanaging. I would have enjoyed my job a lot mire if everything was more organized and they took the employees thoughts and feelings into consideration.

What I like about the company

The company is very diverse and the trainers are amazing! Working from home has a lot of great benefits.

What I dislike about the company

I feel that the upper management could be better and more organized.

The amount of paperwork upon hire but that’s expected and also the hourly wage could be higher seeing the cost of living is much higher now.

You never know whose team you will be put on. they can be good or bad

Teamwork

Unless you are kept with your team that you start with, or your team lead doesn't leave the company, you won't know or be encouraged to get to know anyone, especially working from home, you feel alone.

Freedom to work independently

Pretty decent autonomy (working from home) but lack of leadership and direction. There is no direction, any advancement only granted if your #'s are at the very top which is extremely difficult to do if you do a good job for all the angry customers you get.

Internal Communication

The customers are angry for a reason. Policies are ridiculous and customers are bound to contracts with no way out other than large disconnect fees. Installers don't show up, and it may be because an installer isn't in their area anymore. Very poor communication between management!

Overall compensation for your work

$10/hr

Office / Work Environment

Working from home or offices in Denver. depends on your situation. The pay isn't that great, so one would not be able to afford superior conditions in their work environment, but you can get by.

Environmental Friendliness

I believe Satellite internet (the contract I was on) is not harmful to the environment, however, the company as a whole does not seem to make efforts to help the environment that I know of.

Work-Life Balance

This job is extremely demanding. 75% of calls are angry and dismayed, and it only gets worse, because the company does not encourage any positive changes, as much as you implore that they be made

Company Image

The company seemed to maintain their image of thieves, because the company would stand by their contract which seemed to be in gold whether or not a customer was satisfied or not. It was expensive to attempt to get out of the contract, or they're forced to pay tons of money in overage for using the service.

Job Security

You can be let go at any time whether or not the reason is valid or investigated..

Handicapped Accessibility

My job was work from home,so this would be an alright job for someone with disabilities in regards to the physical aspect

Workplace Safety

Other than the occassional threats and often angry and loud yelling that goes on on the other end of the phone that a customer wants to kill you, it is safe

Challenging Work

The job is demanding, very little time between calls at any given time, but the resources provided make it simple to do the job. I needed more of a challenge in respect to being allowed to move to a different department where I can make changes needed to keep the client we worked for in a positive light.

Inclusive / Diverse

There are opportunities to participate in events (put more time in to work and not get paid for it) but the rewards were not worth it. Only the minimim was put into this type of thing (all online) there were never staff invites to on-site events or seminars for improvement. Advancement seems to not be an option for most.

Support from management

Although the camaraderie was great between people, a lot of supervisors and team leaders had different answers for the same questions. It seemed sometimes no 2 team leaders had the same answers sometimes. There was a lot of gossip too. Things changed a lot from day to day sometimes and sometimes it happened so fast that it was not relayed to us by our supervisors or team leaders. It was constant change and it was something that was normal in this job.

Teamwork

Teamwork for the most part in the call center was something we depended on and we had fun not only on the phones, but in training and in activities we had in the call center and out. We had lots of charitable things we did and themes and get togethers.

Internal Communication

Communication was not always swift or understood. Sometimes it seemed people had mixed up information between call centers and local areas. Not only between call centers but sometimes between employees and supervisors and team leaders.

Office / Work Environment

The first place we were trained was at a school in lawn chairs. The second place we were at was an old store with no air conditioning in the dead heat of Louisiana summer. There were no bathrooms for us to use at first. It was really dirty, then our next call center, our permanent one in the same mall, was kind of clean. The air often burned our eyes for some reason in some parts of the building but the bathrooms were pretty clean most of the time and most of us cleaned our areas fairly well. As far as computers, we were still using windows xp, they were not up to date but we all had pretty much the same computers. The lighting was not very bright but it was like that so people would not get sick of too bright lights. It was kind of ambient.
