Zero career development path. Structured like a PE with smaller independent operating units, Trelleborg does a very poor job of talent management. in 7 years, I had 3 different versions of talent management systems which dd a great job of identifying top talent. Trelleborg just has no idea what to do with people once identified.
Support from management
Leadership from Sweden was imaginary. Local leadership since my exit rules by fear and intimidation. The next generation of high performers has subsequently left the business.
Freedom to work independently
Since I reported to Sweden, I was completely autonomous which gave me the opportunity to create the industry leading business it is.
Office / Work Environment
100 year old textile facilities.
Abusive current environment.
As put by current leadership, "I like my people young and in debt. That way I can make them do anything I want."
Suggestions for improvement
- Action for the group level in Sweden on driving talent management behavior beyond just the assessment portion.
What I like about the company
I had the freedom to create a world class business.
What I dislike about the company
Limited opportunities. A one and done kind of organization even for those that are identified as the top talent. Well unless your family are prominent in the Swedish political/business circle.
